Villarreal can no longer count on the services of striker Cédric Bakambu. That made the Spanish first division announced on its website. The French Congolese has his contract with the geelhemden let dissolve and would, according to various media for a monsterbedrag on the road to the Chinese Beijing Guoan.
Bakambu would be the most expensive African footballer ever. The official transfer fee would be around 44 million euros, but because of the extra load that in China was introduced on transfers of foreign players, would be the total cost of the transfer to Beijing Guoan at 78 million euro.
The 26-year-old Bakambu opened his pro career with his opleidingsclub Sochaux (2010-2014). After a successful season in Turkey with Bursaspor took Villarreal to the attacker in the summer of 2015, to El Madrigal. There was Bakambu, with 47 goals in 105 official duels to the best rider of the team.
