The petition for mercy of the ‘accountant of Auschwitz’ bekendgeworden ex-SS-officer Oskar Gröning is rejected. That informed the Public Ministry of Lüneburg (lower Saxony) Wednesday.
Gröning was in 2015 due to his participation in the murder of 300,000 people to four years in prison. The 96-year-old will now fairly quickly to the cell.
Gröning had in the extermination camp of Auschwitz, among other things, the money from the deportees upon arrival, collected, counted, and passed on to Berlin. Men such as he appeared in Germany, only decades after the Second world War for the right. In the post-war period were first, the staff of the concentration camps, indicted, that authority had or was accused of violence.
According to the current German legal concepts, however, is anyone criminal, who by his service in a death camp in one way or another has contributed to the killing machine of the nazis.
