John Purkey was a good friend of Kurt Cobain. his YouTube channel, the Observer he regularly shares great stories about his friendship and the music of Cobain and Nirvana. In a number of recent videos he placed previously unreleased demos of Nirvana in the early ’80’s.

In total there is about 2 hours of unique music can be heard in the videos. In between, gives Purkey info about the period in which the music is recorded. Much of the material was a prelude to Nirvana’s debut album Bleach, but there are also songs that later Nevermind came out. Dave Grohl was in the time of the recordings have not yet drummer of the band, that was Chad Channing. The demo’s were for years in a metal box for John Purkey at home.
