Tom Dumoulin and Dafne Schippers fall in the prices at Dutch sports gala

Cyclist Tom Dumoulin and athlete Dafne Schippers on Tuesday in Amsterdam voted Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year in the Netherlands.

Dumoulin, this year as the first Dutchman ever winner of the Tour of Italy, loved F1 pilot Max Verstappen and skater Sven Kramer behind. Schippers, world champion in the 200 m, stayed zeilster Marit Bouwmeester and cyclist Anna van der Breggen.

For Boaters, it is the second election to be Sportswoman of the Year, after 2015. It follows up on the hall of fame gymnast Sanne Wevers. For Dumoulin, it was the first election, he follows the hall of fame Max Verstappen.
