Brendon Walsh established himself in comedy in Austin, TX. In 2004 he won the “Funniest Person in Austin” contest and that same year he appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as his original character, “Scary Monster” (a terrible monster stand up comedian). He was voted “Best Stand-Up Comedian” in the Austin Chronicle’s “Readers Poll” two years in a row as well as appearing on season 9 of Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and on season 4 of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”

In 2008, Brendon was featured in the “New Faces” showcase at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, where he returned in 2010 to tape a special for HBO called “Funny As Hell”. Most recently, he has appeared on CONAN on TBS and two episodes of “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” on Comedy Central. Brendon also recorded a Half Hour stand up special for Comedy Central which will be released in 2012, and to top it all off he’s our guest this week in 5 Questions.

“The Bone Zone” at Deathsquad.tv

FOH:   You host your own podcast “The Bone Zone” on the Deathsquad network. Could you discuss that for some of the readers that might not be familiar with what that is?

BW:   A podcast is like a radio show, but instead of being broadcast over the airwaves, they are pre-recorded and people can “download” them onto their portable MP3 devices. The name “podcast” is a combination of the words “iPod” and “broadcast”. Click on the link for a more detailed explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast

FOH:   You spent three years as Doug Stanhope’s opening act. What was the strangest experience you had during that stretch?

BW:   Ordering room service at midnight!!!

FOH:   Is there anything in particular within the field of entertainment that you haven’t done yet but would love to do?

BW:   I want to be the host of The Price is Right. For real, that would be the best job ever. I love that show.

FOH:   What’s next for Brendon Walsh in the twelve months to come?

BW:   Sleeping, eating, shitting, et cetera.
